While this version of Ormendahl might not size up to the Profane Prince from Shadows Over Innistrad, a 6/6 flying, trampling, lifelinker is still incredibly powerful. The lifelink ability can also help you thread the needle and reach the end step at thirteen life to transform Jerren into Ormendahl. But Jerren also gives you the ability to give a Human lifelink for two mana, allowing you to recoup the life lost to generate the tokens. From then on, whenever a nontoken Human you control dies, lose another life and get another 1/1 Human token. If you do, transform Jerren.įor three mana and the price of one life, you get a 2/3 and 1/1. Something like ] that can allow you to ramp and sac at least 1 curse per turn cycle is huge.Jerren is a legendary Human Cleric that happens to transform into a famous demon from the plane - Ormendahl, the Corrupter. ] - maybe a different sac outlet? I'm personally a bigger fan of permanent repeat sac outlets versus one time usage. Similar effect, but stops them for 2 turns from being able to use whatever you bounce. While it's flavourful, if you have Lynde out and you play this, the curses are just going to re-enchant you at the next end step. ] also seems like a great card to remove. It doesn't look like you are focused enough on that to have it as a possible win-con and could instead be used for other benefits. If you can find room, ] has been huge for me. Now if you can do this multiple times in a turn cycle, that could potentially be 3-4 2/2 zombies you're making each round that you can then use to block or attack with when it comes back around to you. If you sac or destroy one of your own curses, it will return from the GY to the BF attached to you. If you do find yourself with a curse leaving your GY on a regular basis, a fun synergy I just found out about is ].

By giving yourself two upkeep triggers, that's 2 curses you could be handing out to people. If you do end up with multiple curses on yourself, another great way of dishing them back out to people is via ]. It lets you bounce as many non-land permanents to your hand from the BF, so it's a great way to save your curses from a mass exile or destroy all. As another user noted, a great recursion piece you can set up early is ] and just sac it if someone ends up playing a mass enchantment destroy effect to return all your curses from the GY to your hand.
